How long does it take to create a custom perfume?
There is no fixed timeline. Some projects settle quickly; others need more testing. A realistic timescale follows the first discussion.
Do you work with individuals or companies?
Both. I work with private clients, start-ups and established brands.
Is everything safe and regulated?
Yes. Work follows relevant IFRA and UK/EU requirements, with appropriate safety information provided.
Do I own the formula?
Personal clients receive the finished fragrance while the formula stays with J Brown Olfactive. Business clients own their approved commercial formula.
Do I need a safety assessment before selling perfume?
Yes. A safety assessment is required before commercial sale, and I can explain where it fits into the process.
Can we work together if I'm not local?
Yes. Projects can be handled remotely by email and WhatsApp from the UK.
How does the compounding service work?
After an NDA, I review your formula, source materials, compound the concentrate, and ship it undiluted in aluminium canisters.
